Boy shot dead at California sleepover (w/video)
MANTECA — Two adults have been arrested on suspicion of improperly storing a firearm that was used in the slaying of an 11-year-old at a Central California sleepover.
Manteca Police Sgt. Jodie Estarziau said Wednesday 26-year-old Carlos Calzado and 35-year-old Christa McGrath knew there was a gun inside McGrath's home, where the shooting occurred earlier this month.
Authorities say a 17-year-old used the gun to shoot the 11-year-old boy and the boy's brother, who survived.
KCRA-TV reports (http://bit.ly/1qOwRr6) that the 17-year-old has been charged in the shootings. Authorities have not said what sparked the shooting.
Calzado and McGrath were expected in court on Thursday. They were also facing a child endangerment charge for allegedly supplying alcohol to the 17-year-old and other teens.
