Storm brings over an inch to Sonoma County

Another storm is expected to blow in Tuesday with as much as 3 to 5 inches of rain in upper elevations, according to forecasters.|

The second of three storms moved across Sonoma County on Saturday night and Sunday, bringing rain totals for the 24 hours ending at 4 p.m. Sunday to an inch or more in some parts of west Sonoma County.

The biggest totals accumulated in Guerneville, parts of which saw as much as 1.44 inches of rain.

Santa Rosa recorded 0.44 of an inch in that time period, Cazadero 1.15 of an inch, Healdsburg 0.5 of an inch and Petaluma 0.38 of an inch.

Showers continued intermittently throughout Sunday, and were forecast to taper off, bringing a cloudy but mostly dry Monday. But on Tuesday, another storm is expected to blow in, bringing with it as much as 3 to 5 inches in the upper elevations, National Weather Service forecaster Diana Henderson said. Lower areas could receive a couple inches, she said.

“It might be a little gusty late Tuesday and early Wednesday,” she added.

Rain is expected to continue, on and off, through Friday.
