Fire investigators working on the cause of a house fire near Geyserville believe electrical wiring in the residence may be to blame, Geyserville Fire Chief Marshall Turbeville said.

Sunday afternoon’s fire caused about $50,000 damage and left the home in the 900 block of Lytton Station Road uninhabitable for the family of six living there, Turbeville said.

Firefighters from seven agencies rushed to the rural area after getting 911 reports of a house on fire at about 4:45 p.m.

No one was home at the time. The fire appeared to have started on a back porch of the older two-story farmhouse and spread to a bedroom and attic, damaging about one-third of the home.

Turbeville said the fire wasn’t suspicious.

Geyserville, Healdsburg, Cloverdale, Windsor, Dry Creek Rancheria, Forestville and Rincon Valley fire departments helped put out the fire.
