A memorial service for George Wentzlaff, 69, a former child actor and longtime Camp Meeker resident, is set for 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at Elim Lutheran Church, 504 Baker St., Petaluma.

Wentzlaff, who was born in Los Angeles, appeared in 10 films in the 1950s along with stars like Cary Grant and Marilyn Monroe and was known for a deep voice that earned him the nickname “Foghorn.” He retired from show business at age 12 and settled in Camp Meeker in the late 1970s.

Wentzlaff died of a heart attack at his home on June 13. A Navy veteran, he will be buried Tuesday at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery near Dixon.

Memorial donations may be made to Forgotten Felines of Sonoma County, P.O. Box 6672, Santa Rosa, 95406.
