A 29-year-old Petaluma man was arrested Friday night on suspicion of driving while intoxicated after his pickup truck struck four parked cars and a motorcycle on a residential street in west Petaluma.

Evert Gonzalez-Garcia was seen by witnesses running into a house near 6th and E streets after his silver Dodge pickup struck the vehicles and came to rest atop a parked Harley-Davidson motorcycle, according to a Petaluma Police press release.

The series of crashes occurred shortly before 10:30 p.m. The struck vehicles were parked on 6th Street south of D Street.

Witnesses directed officers to a home where they found Gonzalez-Garcia with the homeowner, who police said didn’t know the pickup truck driver.

Gonzalez-Garcia cooperated with officers and submitted to a breath test that registered his blood alcohol level at .138 percent, above the legal limit of .08 percent, according to the press release. Officers also determined the man was “unlicensed to drive in the state of California.”

Gonzalez-Garcia was booked in Sonoma County Jail. He was released Saturday morning after posting $10,000 bail, a jail spokesperson said.

The owners of the damaged vehicles were contacted, police said. No one was injured as a result of the crashes.
