Girl hospitalized after thrown from horse at Mount Diablo State Park
SAN FRANCISCO - A 16-year-old girl has been hospitalized after she was thrown from a horse while riding in Mount Diablo State Park.
The San Francisco Chronicle reports (http://bit.ly/29aVCex) that the girl was flown out of the rugged southwest corner of the Contra Costa County park on Thursday and taken to John Muir Medical Center.
The girl was hoisted up to a helicopter with a 165-foot cable. Officials say the girl was wearing a helmet for her ride and suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
The horse remained on the trail.
