A Lakeport domestic violence call Friday ended with police Tasering a man who refused to drop a knife.

Police arrived at a Lakeport residence to investigate a report of Lizardo Elias Velasquez, 50, threatening to stab a woman inside the house, a release from the Lakeport police said.

Velasquez told officers he would “blow them up” if they didn't leave his property, police said.

The 61-year-old woman then opened the back door and told a sergeant she was afraid Velasquez would stab her.

Velasquez walked toward the back door, but ran inside when he saw the sergeant, police said. The sergeant, Taser drawn, followed Velasquez to the kitchen, where he was holding a knife. Instead of dropping it, Velasquez took a step toward the sergeant, who fired the Taser, police said. Velasquez was taken to a hospital, then jailed.

After his arrest, Velasquez told officers that “he wanted to kill the police who arrived,” the release said.

He was booked on suspicion of domestic violence, terrorist threats, exhibiting a deadly weapon, assault on and resisting a peace officer and for an outstanding warrant.
