Santa Rosa police are seeking witnesses to a hit-and-run accident Saturday that left an 84-year-old Santa Rosa woman seriously injured. The accident took place around 8:30 p.m. in the area of 1550 Pacific Avenue, near the First Presbyterian Church.

The woman was reportedly struck by a white sedan driven by a woman in her 50s or 60s who immediately fled the scene, Sgt. Summer Black said.

The elderly woman was crossing Pacific Avenue but does not appear to have been in a crosswalk, Black said.

The car was described as a late 1990s or early 2000s model sedan similar to a Toyota Corolla, possibly with four doors, Black said.

The woman was taken to a local hospital where she remained in serious condition with injuries to her spine, head trauma and multiple lacerations, police said.

Anyone who witnessed the collision is encouraged to contact Officer Josh Kertianis of the Santa Rosa Police Department at 543-3636.
