The CHP identified a Healdsburg man killed in a Dry Creek Road crash as 22-year-old Brandon Lloyd Clopton.

Clopton was driving a Ford Mustang south on the rural Healdsburg-area road Saturday afternoon.

The CHP said Clopton was speeding when, due to undetermined reasons, he lost control of the car and ran off the road. The Mustang hit a utility pole and tree and rolled several times before stopping on its roof.

Clopton was pronounced dead at the crash scene. Passenger Lauren Elizabeth Ell, 23, of Healdsburg, was flown to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital with major injuries.

Officers said alcohol is being investigated as a possible factor in the crash.
