Santa Rosa police say a man robbed on Tuesday afternoon the Exchange Bank at Stony Point Road near Oliver’s Market, passing a note to a bankteller that demanded cash.

The incident unfolded around 4:10 p.m. when the stocky man came into the bank and passed a handwritten note to the teller, police said.

He was able to escape on foot with an undisclosed amount of money, though the teller hit the alarm button to alert authorities, Sgt. Mike Clark said.

The robber did not display a weapon or allude to one in his note, Clark said.

The suspect was described as a white man, aged 40 to 50 years old, and standing 5-foot-2 to 5-foot-6, with a heavy build.

He was wearing white shorts, a tan baseball cap and a medium-blue, hooded sweatshirt.

Anyone with information regarding the case is asked to call police at 707-543-3590.
