Masked man robs Middletown convenience store at gunpoint

A man wearing black clothing pointed a pistol at a clerk and got away with cash, officials said.|

A man wearing all black clothing robbed a Middletown convenience store at gunpoint Monday night, Lake County sheriff’s officials said late Tuesday.

The man walked into the Store 24 at 21026 Hwy 29 shortly after 10 p.m., brandished a pistol, and demanded money from the clerk, officials said.

The man, described as about 5-feet 10-inches tall, 200 pounds and wearing black clothes and a mask covering all but his eyes, left walking southbound on Highway 29. Deputies were unable to locate the suspect.

Officials released several photographs of the suspect as he was committing the robbery. Anyone with information about the suspect is encouraged to contact Detective Richard Kreutzer of the Lake County Sheriff’s Major Crimes Unit at (707) 262-4233.
