Foot that washed up on Doran Beach ID’d belonging to Ohio man

A DNA comparison helped solve that part of the mystery.|

A foot that washed ashore on Doran Beach last month was identified Thursday as belonging to an Ohio man.

Clad in an ankle sock and men’s skate shoe, the foot was discovered Feb. 7 by a ?beachgoer in the Cypress Day Use area.

At the time, the size 10 shoe and black sock were detectives’ primary clues.

However, a DNA comparison ultimately identified the foot as belonging to Taylor Schwartz, 24 of Sunbury, Ohio.

Further details about what happened to Schwartz were not released. Social media posts about him said he committed suicide about a year ago.

His family has been notified of the identification, a coroner’s sergeant said.
