SUV collides with cow on Bodega Highway

The SUV collided with the cow at about 6 a.m., according to the CHP.|

A cow standing on Bodega Highway near Freestone early Tuesday surprised a driver who crashed into the animal, the CHP said Tuesday.

Two people in the Chevrolet Tahoe weren’t injured but the cow died, according to emergency dispatch reports.

The 6:02 a.m. crash happened at the intersection of Bodega Highway and Valley Ford Freestone Road.

The CHP reported at 7:40 a.m. that the cow and the SUV had been moved from the roadway. The cow’s owner was notified and came to the scene.
