For the fifth consecutive year, Santa Rosa Junior College was named one of the nation’s best colleges to work for by the Chronicle of Higher Education, a trade publication for college and university administrators and faculty members.

The Chronicle based its results on a survey of 232 private and public institutions, including two-and four-year colleges. More than 45,000 randomly selected administrators, faculty and staff responded - 41 percent of those surveyed.

Employees were asked to grade their college in 12 categories, such as pay and benefits, confidence in senior leadership and diversity. Colleges were divided into different groups based on enrollment and whether they were two- or four-year institutions and ranked in 12 categories.

SRJC officials said it was the fifth year they’ve participated in the “Great Colleges to Work For” survey. It was one of two community colleges in the state and a dozen in the nation to land on this year’s “honor roll” after receiving distinctions in multiple categories.
