A 35-year-old Fair Oaks man broke his right knee Thursday when he crashed his motorcycle on Highway 1 near the coastal community of Elk.

Jason Fish was riding south along the highway on a 2012 Harley Davidson motorcycle about 3:20 p.m., according to a news release from the CHP. Going into a turn, Fish applied his brakes and lost control of the motorcycle, which veered off the highway and struck a guardrail.

Paramedics took Fish by ambulance to Mendocino Coast District Hospital in Fort Bragg. Along with the broken knee, he suffered a laceration to the back of the same knee.
