Small fire doused in Santa Rosa park early Sunday

Firefighters douse blaze at Place to Play park in 15 minutes|

Santa Rosa firefighters quickly doused a grass fire early Sunday in a city park on West Third Street, the department said.

The fire, reported at 4:18 a.m., involved a small grassy area and a 75-foot redwood tree near the entrance to A Place to Play park at 2375 W. Third St., Battalion Chief Ken Sebastiani said in a press release.

The blaze was extinguished in 15 minutes and the cause was under investigation, he said.
