Driver arrested, three injured in Highway 101 crash in Santa Rosa
The CHP said a driver in a three-vehicle collision early Monday on Highway 101 in Santa Rosa was suspected of driving drunk.
The southbound crash at Hearn Avenue sent three people to a hospital and blocked southbound lanes for hours, according to authorities.
It collision just before 1 a.m. in southern Santa Rosa, left wrecked vehicles and scattered debris across the width of the freeway and stretching about 100 yards, Santa Rosa fire Battalion Chief Mark Basque said.
Southbound traffic was briefly blocked and drivers diverted off the highway. Three ambulances and three tow trucks responded and as the debris was cleared, traffic was funneled to an open lane. All lanes were open by 4:30 a.m, according to the CHP.
Five people were checked for injuries and three were transported to a hospital with a range of injuries.
The identification of the arrested driver has not been released.
