Mendocino CHP officers are looking for witnesses to a Thursday crash near Fort Bragg, which killed a Fort Bragg woman.

The 43-year-old woman crashed while driving on Mitchell Creek Drive, south of Turner Road, about 8:30 p.m. Thursday.

She was northbound and on a curve when her 2002 Mazda moved into the opposite lane. She apparently lost control as she tried to correct and her car spun off the road, the CHP said. The driver’s side hit a tree.

The woman had been wearing her seat belt. Whether alcohol or drugs were a factor remained part of the investigation, the CHP said.

CHP officials asked anyone who saw the crash or has information to contact officers in Ukiah at 707-467-4420.
