A northeast Santa Rosa grass fire burned just under two acres Monday along Santa Rosa Creek, destroying two homeless encampments without injuring anyone.

Santa Rosa firefighters responded about 3 p.m. to the fire at the dead-end of Quigg Drive, containing it within 20 minutes. Santa Rosa firefighter Sage Howell was among the 15 fire personnel responding.

The fire did not start near the encampments, according to Santa Rosa Fire Battalion Chief Mark Basque, who said it's not believed to be related to the encampments.
