A motorist was arrested for suspected drunken driving after he apparently drove his car off Highway 20 into Clear Lake early Friday, according to the CHP.
Two men escaped from the sedan after it plunged into the lake near Clearlake Oaks, and no one appeared to have been injured, authorities said.
The incident occurred at 5:42 a.m. near Hillside Lane on the west side of Clearlake Oaks, the CHP said.
The driver, whose name was not immediately available, was later determined to have been driving without a license in violation of his probation, CHP Officer Joe Wind said.
The man was arrested for those violations, as well as alleged drunken driving, Wind said.
