With a CHP motorcycle officer behind him in stopped traffic, a driver at a Santa Rosa intersection opened the door of his Buick SUV and poured out a beer bottle, the CHP said Tuesday.
The officer pulled over Alejandro Gonzalez, 24, near the Steele Lane and Illinois Avenue intersection about 4 p.m. Saturday. The Healdsburg man failed sobriety tests and subsequently was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving and child endangerment - he had two children, 12 and 13, in the SUV.
He also faces other suspected charges, including driving with a suspended license, driving without an ignition interlock device and violating probation.
It was his fourth DUI arrest within a decade, authorities said. Gonzalez has three prior DUI convictions, CHP said.

Sonoma County Child Protective Services were contacted about the children, CHP said.
