YUBA CITY - Officials searching for a missing 20-year-old Northern California college student say that ransom messages sent to her family are not connected with her disappearance.

The Sacramento Bee reports (http://bit.ly/2nZVuT8) that the Sutter County Sheriff's Department says the individual who sent the notes to Alycia "Aly" Leane Yeoman's family has no knowledge of her whereabouts.

Authorities are offering a $5,000 reward for information about Yeoman who has been missing since March 30.

Police found her pickup truck and cellphone near a river levee about 50 miles north of Sacramento. They searched the home where she was last seen about 10 miles from the truck. But they wouldn't say if they discovered anything suspicious.

Police say her cell phone records and other electronic devices were being analyzed for leads that might help find her.
