OAKLAND — First baseman Ike Davis and the Oakland Athletics have agreed to a $3.8 million, one-year contract, while right-hander Fernando Rodriguez has received a $635,000 deal.

Oakland declined to tender contracts to first baseman Kyle Blanks and outfielder Andrew Brown by Tuesday night's deadline. The pair become free agents Wednesday.

Davis was acquired last month from the Pirates. He began last season with the New York Mets and batted .208 with a home run and five RBIs in 12 games before Pittsburgh acquired him April 18 for pitchers Zack Thornton and Blake Taylor. A left-handed hitter, Davis hit .235 for the Pirates to finish with a .233 batting average, 11 homers and 51 RBIs.

Both contracts are guaranteed.
