Analy girls and Sonoma Valley boys took home the team banners at the Sonoma County League swim meet on Friday at Santa Rosa JC.

Analy girls tallied 510 points with Sonoma Valley finishing second with 451. The Dragons’ boys squad wound up with 438, ahead of the 374 amassed by runner-up Analy.

As for individual performances, Marie Alameida captured two races while double winners on the boys side were Luke Ressler and Jack Murphy. All three swim for Analy.

Alameida took the 100 freestyle in 52:01 and then the 100 backstroke in 57:55. The junior was also part of the winning 200 medley relay and 200 free relay teams.

“I’m real tired,” she said after collecting her awards. “My teammate (Ziolani Auza’a) really pushed me in the 100 back. She definitely made me go faster.”

Alameida wasn’t surprised her relay teams took home blue ribbons.

“We’ve been strong and dynamic all year,” she said.

The relay teams will advance to the North Coast Section Tournament on May 13-14.

Murphy, a junior at Analy, has qualified for NCS in the freestyle.

“I’ve won all my races and I’m shooting for my best time at NCS,” he said. “I’ve been lowering my times.”

Murphy completed the distance Friday in 4:48.40. In the 200 IM, his winning time was 1:56.34.

Teammate Ressler doubled in the 100 and 200 freestyle race. He stopped the timer at 51:49 in the shorter event and completed the longer race in 2:00.80.

He hasn’t lost an SCL race the past two years.

“The 100 is my favorite event,” the senior said. “I know I can swim faster than I did in the finals. My time was pretty good and most importantly, it was good enough to win at this meet.”

Other individual winners on the boys Piner’s Jack McCormick (50 freestyle), Sonoma Valley’s Dominic Tommasi (100 butterfly), El Molino’s Benji Zeigler (100 backstroke) and Sonoma Valley’s Jack Lewis (100 breaststroke).

McCormick is the first swimmer in 10 years from Piner to receive NCS consideration.

“That’s been my goal this season,” the junior said. “I feel pretty good about it.”

Lewis set a personal best in the breaststroke (1:07.06)..

“I was pumped going into the race and I swam my best time ever,” the senior said.

Besides Alameida, other girls winning at the meet were: Sonoma Valley’s Hannah Ladouceur (200 freestyle), Analy’s Sophie Boisseau (200 IM), Analy’s Christy Schlutius (50 freestyle), Analy’s Lani Auva’a (100 butterfly), Analy’s Grace Moussa (500 freestyle) and Sonoma Valley’s Maya Grajczyk (100 breaststroke).

Schlutius had her best time of the season in the 50 free (26.04).

“I got off to a quick start and my turn was good,” the senior said.

She also swam on the winning 200 medley and free relay teams.

“I’ve been on the medley relay team for four years,” she said. “I’m confident going into NCS because we’ve always done well.”

Finishing behind Analy and Sonoma in the girls standings were: El Molino (266), Healdsburg (229), Petaluma (215) and Piner (108).

In the boys division, third place went to Petaluma (228) followed by Healdsburg (211), Piner (169) and El Molino (142).
