The Santa Rosa Junior College football team found itself facing a big deficit early — and a second-half rally wasn’t enough in Saturday’s 52-30 loss to Sierra College.

Sierra had a 24-0 advantage late in the first half and the Bear Cubs didn’t get on the board until Matt Thompson’s 27-yard field goal just before halftime.

SRJC quarterback Jordon Brookshire threw three touchdowns in the second half and Kaylor Sullivan added another, but Sierra’s offense kept pace with four TDs of their own.

SRJC remains winless at 0-5.
