Sonoma State will award new scholarships in wine business program
Sonoma State University announced Thursday that it will award $41,500 in new scholarships to students in its wine business programs.
The awards will go to students enrolled next academic year in both its MBA and undergraduate wine business programs. The school also said that one $3,500 scholarship will go to a student in its online Wine Business Management program that launches on May 11.
The scholarships are in addition to more than $100,000 in grants available through its Wine Industry Scholars Program, which offsets tuition and other educational expenses for family members of vineyard and winery workers.

In the North Coast, we are surrounded by hundreds of wineries along with some of the best breweries, cidermakers and distillers. These industries produce an abundance of drinks as well as good stories – and those are what I’m interested in writing. I also keep my eye on our growing cannabis industry and other agricultural crops, which have provided the backbone for our food-and-wine culture for generations.
