This summer, the Marin County Fair will return with the theme “Make a Splash!,” and this week, the fair made quite a splash by announcing its musical lineup, including iconic performers and a daylong festival featuring popular local tribute acts.

Bay Area hip-hop legends En Vogue, Grammy-winning country artist Brandy Clark, reggae pioneer Ziggy Marley, and veteran Texas rock group Los Lonely Boys are all slated to perform at this year’s fair, running from July 3-7 in San Rafael. The fair also hosts the Splashback Music Fest on the Fourth of July, featuring tribute bands covering hits from the 1970s, ‘80s and more.

All concerts are free with the price of general admission. Tickets go on sale May 1.

Formed in 1989, En Vogue is best known for chart-topping hits like “Hold On” and “My Lovin' (You're Never Gonna Get It).” In 2018, the group, currently featuring founding members Terry Ellis and Cindy Herron-Braggs with Rhona Bennett, released Electric Café, its first album in 14 years, and they continue to garner tens of millions of streams online. En Vogue performs July 3 at 7:30 p.m.

Country singer Brandy Clark landed on several “Best of 2023” lists, including NPR Music, Billboard and Rolling Stone, for her self-titled debut album, which included the Grammy-winning song “Dear Insecurity,” featuring Brandi Carlile. Clark performs July 5 at 7:30 p.m.

Award-winning musician, producer and activist Ziggy Marley has been speaking out on environmental awareness and social injustice through his music for nearly 40 years. Marley performs July 6 at 7:30 p.m.

Texas trio Los Lonely Boys burst onto the scene two decades ago with their self-described brand of "Texican Rock n' Roll" that mixes rock, Tejano music, soul and blues. The band, made of brothers Henry, Jojo, and Ringo Garza, performs July 7 at 7:30 p.m.

The fair’s Splashback Music Fest marks Independence Day with an afternoon and evening of tribute bands including Foreverland, Petty Theft, Super Diamond and Tainted Love. The fest happens July 4 beginning at 3:30 p.m.

The Marin County Fair takes place at 10 Avenue of the Flags in San Rafael.

Single day tickets are $15-$25, tickets for July 4 are $30. Children 12 and under, adults age 65 and over and veterans with ID can get in free on July 3. Children 3 and under and active-duty military can get in for free every day.
