Dry Creek zins

Put on your red, white and blue for the All-American Zin Day from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 30 in the Dry Creek Valley.

The day includes tasting of an array of zins and primitivos (Italian zinfandels) paired with barbecue dishes at six winery tasting rooms.

Tickets are $55, or $30 for designated drivers. For more information, go to allamericanzinday.com. Tickets will also be available at the day of the event for $60.

Participating wineries include Kokomo, Martorana, Mazzocco-Sonoma, Rued, Wilson and Family Wineries Dry Creek.

NAPA

Taste like an expert

Karen MacNeil, a renowned wine expert and author, will teach a class on wine tasting at 6 p.m. June 29 at the Culinary Institute of America at Copia.

The course, which is called “Become an Expert Wine Taster - in 90 Minutes,” will feature a tasting of 10 wines. Fee is $105. To register, go to karenmacneil.com/expert

Italian summer festa

Celebrate summer’s long days and longer nights the Tuscan way with a multi-course meal paired with wines at SIMI Winery.

Vino e Cibo Anno Quattro will be held at 6 p.m. July 21 and hosted by SIMI’s Director of Winemaking Susan Lueker and Chef Kolin Vazzoler.

PENNGROVE

Pancake breakfast

Rancho Adobe Fire District will be flipping pancakes from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. June 30 at the fire station, 11000 Main St.

In addition to pancakes, there will be ham, eggs, fruit and juice served.

Tickets are $10 at the door, $5 kids 12 and under, to benefit the Rancho Adobe Fire District. 707-795-6011.

SANTA ROSA

Tacos and tequila

Come test your canine acumen while enjoying a brew from Lagunitas from 6 to 9 p.m. June 29, during Tacos, Tequila & Trivia night at the Schulz Museum.

Winners of the Snoopy-themed trivia contest will win best in show and take home a prize. If you don’t win, there’s still a taco bar at the Warm Puppy Cafe and flights of tequila to enjoy.

A giant Jenga game, outdoor fire pit and access to the museum galleries are included in the ticket price of $30.

Culinary Cafe open

The Santa Rosa Junior College’s Culinary Cafe will open for summer on June 27 at the B. Robert Burdo Culinary Arts Center.

The students will prepare, cook and serve a menu of seasonal salads, sandwiches, pizzas, entrees and desserts from 11:30 to 2 p.m. Wednesdays through Fridays. Reservations: 707-522-2796.
