Marla hosts first happy hour

Marla Bakery is a popular daytime stop for pastries and coffee, and now the new-ish bakery on the edge of Railroad Square is trying on a nighttime look, with a Thirsty Thursday happy hour 5-7 p.m. Thursday. Chef Amy Brown will provide bites paired with wine flights while one of Marla’s bakers will spin some vinyl to keep things lively. Apparently this will be the first of many happy hours, as the Marla owners say they plan to hold the Thursday happy hours twice a month. Details will be announced on their Instagram page, @Marla_SR. Breakfast with Santa before his world tour

The clock is ticking to squeeze in a breakfast with Santa, and Kina’s Kitchen is offering what could be one of your last chances to meet with St. Nick before he hustles back to the North Pole to harness up the reindeer. Nashville singers, songwriters headline holiday dinner

Enjoy an evening of song, food and wine as Bricoleur Vineyards hosts Nashville singers and songwriters Patrick Davis and Lauren Jenkins 5-9:30 p.m. Saturday. The evening will begin with hors d’oeuvres prepared by chef Thomas Bellec and his team paired with wines selected by winemaker Cary Gott, followed by a three-course wine-paired dinner. Afterward, Patrick Davis and his Midnight Choir will perform a 90-minute holiday concert. Davis has written hits for Lady Antebellum, Jewel and Darius Rucker.
