Taste of Yountville set to return, at newly redesigned Chandon, after 5-year absence
Following a five-year hiatus, Yountville is set to showcase its finest food and wine offerings during an intimate tasting experience this spring.
Taste of Yountville will take place from 11:30-2:30 p.m. April 21 at the newly transformed Chandon winery in Yountville.
“We chose this location for its beautiful outdoor garden and capacity to fit the number of attendees expected,” said Whitney Diver McEvoy, president and CEO of Yountville’s Chamber of Commerce.
Chandon just completed an indoor and outdoor renovation of its property.
“It is a must-see winery in the Napa Valley,” McEvoy said.
Chandon plays a unique role in the history of Yountville. It was one of the first sparkling wineries in the U.S. and it opened one of Yountville’s first tasting rooms in 1977.
“This felt like the perfect year for us to host Taste of Yountville, returning in its new, more intimate format for the first time since 2019,” said Stephane de Meurville, Chandon’s home estate director.
The remodel was a deliberate reimagining of the California Home, “an innovative yet respectful transformation worthy of our heritage and place in the Napa Valley,” he said.
While the Taste of Yountville menu is still being finalized, Meurville hinted at fresh, light, farm-to-table bites that “will be versatile pairings for the wines being showcased by the participating wineries.”
The 14 wineries attending are those based in or with tasting rooms in Yountville.
“The tasting rooms and wineries in and immediately surrounding Yountville really wanted to bring this event back to life,” McEvoy said. “Through their support and participation, we have been able to do so.”
Tickets cost $150, and the event is capped at 250 total attendees.
The atmosphere is set to be both fun and festive, and the purchase of a ticket guarantees one pour per winery participating.
VIP tickets are available for $225, with a special reception scheduled from 10:30-11:30 a.m.,
“During the VIP Reception, each Tasting Room/Winery will pour a library wine, and their winemaker or winery principal will be in attendance,” McEvoy said.
“This is a great opportunity to mix and mingle with the winemakers and try some exclusive labels.”
