Stolen bicycles together worth more than $15,000 were recovered after a traffic stop Friday in Santa Rosa, police said.

At about 8 a.m. Friday, an officer patrolling in the 1900 block of Santa Rosa Avenue — in the area of Costco — stopped a blue SUV with a brake light that wasn’t working, Sgt. Patricia Seffens said in a news release.

While he was questioning the driver, Shane Titman, 45, of Sebastopol, the officer “could clearly see three high value bicycles in the rear of the SUV,” Seffens said.

A dispatcher alerted the officer that a resident on Los Alamos Road had just reported that her garage had been broken into and three bicycles stolen.

The victim of the theft was able to identify the bicycles, Seffens said.

Titman was arrested on suspicion of felony possession of stolen property and felony burglary, Seffens said.
