Preliminary investigations revealed carbon monoxide poisoning killed two people found Tuesday inside a Santa Rosa apartment, police said.

A property maintenance employee at Vintage Ridge Apartments, located on Range Avenue north of Coddingtown Shopping Center, found the two just before 9:35 a.m. and called police, Santa Rosa police Sgt. Patricia Seffens said Wednesday.

Police did not specify where the two were found or how long they were deceased.

The two will be identified by the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office after their families have been notified.

“There doesn’t appear to be any criminal element at this time,” Seffens said. “Nothing appears to be suspicious in nature, however, we are investigating thoroughly to ensure that no criminal acts occurred.”
