CHP: Guerneville teen rolls Mustang
A 16-year-old Guerneville youth, driving Sunday night with passengers in violation of his restricted license, apparently lost control of his Ford Mustang while driving on a west county road and rolled the car, according to the CHP.
Two passengers, brothers Diego Valadez, 15, and Ricardo Valadez, 18, had minor injuries. The Guerneville residents were taken to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital, CHP Officer Jon Sloat said Tuesday.
Driver Gabriel Pineda wasn’t injured. The teen was in violation of his provisional driver’s license, Sloat said. The regulated license means new drivers can’t have passengers unless there is an adult at least 25 years old in the car.
The three were traveling on Neeley Road near Guernewood Road about 7:45 p.m. Sunday when the top-down convertible left the roadway and went up an embankment, rolled all the way over and landed on its wheels.
An unsafe turning movement appeared to be the cause and alcohol or speed didn’t appear to be a factor, Sloat said. The three were wearing seat belts.
