A Kelseyville man has been arrested on suspicion of sexually assaulting a 19-year-old woman after stopping to help her with a flat tire mid-day Monday near Hopland, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Alex Joseph Greene, 35, stopped his delivery truck when he saw the young woman, who was stranded alongside Highway 101 just south of the green bridge outside of Hopland at about noon, said CHP Officer Kylar Adams. The young woman reported the suspect changed the tire for her, then sexually assaulted her.

Adams said he cannot release details of the assault because it’s an ongoing investigation.

After contacting the victim, the CHP issued a police bulletin to be on the lookout for the box truck the suspect was driving. Greene was subsequently arrested by the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office while driving on Highway 101 near Geyserville.

Greene was booked into the Mendocino County jail on suspicion of sexual assault and kidnapping.
