Downtown Santa Rosa crash blocks Highway 101
Southbound traffic in downtown Santa Rosa was closed briefly late in Tuesday’s morning commute when three vehicles collided and blocked lanes, sending two to a hospital with minor injuries.
The 8:25 a.m. crash was just south of College Avenue, according to the CHP. It appeared to be a chain-reaction, rear-ender crash.
Santa Rosa firefighters arrived at 8:32 a.m. and found damaged vehicles in the lanes. They used their engine to stop all southbound traffic to safely tend the injured and deal with the crash, said fire Capt. Giulietta Miller.
The highway was closed for about 20 minutes, Miller said.
An ambulance took two drivers to Sutter Santa Rosa Regional Hospital with apparent minor injuries.
