Hoops season is near and area prep coaches will lead a panel discussion Wednesday at a fundraising dinner by Schools Plus, the nonprofit supporting Sonoma County middle and high school athletics.

The second annual Redwood Empire Hoops Symposium features former Golden State Warriors coach Al Attles as guest speaker.

Providing a college perspective will be Sonoma State coach Pat Fuscaldo and Santa Rosa Junior College coach Craig McMillan.

Prep coaches from the North Bay and Sonoma County leagues will be on the panel discussion, sharing news about their teams and the season ahead.

Youth coaches, players' parents and basketball fans are invited to the dinner at Santa Rosa Golf & Country Club, 333 Country Club Drive.
