Man dies after fall from Mendocino County cliff
A man who died after falling from a Mendocino Coast cliff on Monday morning apparently had been among a group of people renting a vacation home in the area, according to the Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office.
The man, believed to be in his 30s, was with a group by the cliffs when he stood up, lost his balance and fell, said sheriff’s Lt. Shannon Barney, according to a preliminary report.
A caller sought help about 10:50 a.m., saying the person had fallen into the water north of Ten Mile Beach. Fort Bragg firefighters and other agencies responded and about 11:30 a.m. reported the person was dead. Efforts were made to recover the body, but further details weren’t available Monday.
