Many of Lynda Hopkins’ vandalized signs have been scrubbed clean

Much of the spray-paint vandalism done to candidate for county supervisor Lynda Hopkins’ campaign signs along Highway 116 between Sebastopol and Forestville has been undone.

Someone has gone from one defaced roadside placard to another and cleaned away the red “1%” that had been scrawled on them. The vandalism would appear to link Hopkins with the 1 percent of Americans commonly described as controlling most of the country’s wealth and power.

Thursday morning, some of the plastic campaign signs on Gravenstein Highway showed evidence of having been robustly scrubbed or scraped. At least a few others still bore the “1%” tag.

Hopkins, a Forestville farmer, is running against former state Sen. Noreen Evans to succeed Supervisor Efren Carrillo.
