Outdoor apparel maker Marmot Mountain is moving its Santa Rosa warehouse operation to Sparks, Nev., consolidating distribution with other clothing brands owned by parent company K2 Inc.

Marmot Mountain will keep its headquarters in Santa Rosa, said company president Mark Martin. Of Marmot's 20 Santa Rosa warehouse employees, five will relocate to Nevada, Martin said. Another five have found other jobs in the company and 10 will lose their jobs, he said.

Marmot's Santa Rosa headquarters has about 85 employees working in product design and development, sales, marketing and administration.

Most of its products are manufactured in Asia. K2, which is headquartered in Carlsbad, reported sales of $340 million for the quarter ending Sept. 30. Its brands include Rawlings, Shakespeare, Stearns and Marker.
