A missing Lakeport teen returned home this weekend after police found her in Glenn County with a 22-year-old man they arrested on suspicion of felony child concealment, Lakeport Police Chief Brad Rasmussen said.

Kirsten Layton, 15, apparently had gone voluntarily with Bradley Burrows to his home in the Grindstone Rancheria in Elk Creek, where the two were found Friday evening, acting Lakeport Sgt. Michael Sobieraj said in a news release.

Her family had reported her missing at about 7:30 p.m. Thursday, saying she’d been gone for three hours. Police searched her neighborhood and launched an extensive effort after receiving information that indicated she could have left Lake County with a 22-year-old man.

The girl contacted her family Friday saying she was near Redding, Sobieraj said. Research showed Burrows lived in the Elk Creek area and Lakeport police began working with law enforcement there. Elk Creek is off rural Highway 162, east of Willows.

Friday night at about 7:40 p.m. Lakeport police, Willows area CHP officers and Glenn County sheriff’s deputies went to the home and found the pair. Burrows was arrested and she was driven back to her family, Sobieraj said.
