A motorcyclist was killed Monday morning in a crash on the Mendocino County

coast, the California Highway Patrol said.

Curtis Snell, 45, of Yuma, Ariz., was riding his 2009 Harley-Davidson south

on Highway 1 near Little River when he slid on a wet curve and was thrown from

the motorcycle, the CHP said.

He suffered major injuries in the 6:45 a.m. crash and died at the scene

before emergency crews arrived, the CHP said.

His speed was estimated at 10-15 mph, the CHP said.
