Santa Rosa Junior College trustees interviewed six candidates for the vacant Area 2 board seat Thursday but put off a vote until the March 11 regular meeting.
"The board wants time to digest (the information)," college president Frank Chong after the back-to-back morning interviews. "There are six very qualified candidates."
Candidates are Kathleen Doyle, a certified public accountant who served on the board before resigning in 2005; former Petaluma City Councilwoman Tiffany Ren?; Lex McCorvey, former executive director of the Sonoma County Farm Bureau; self-employed small business consultant Kathryn Peyton; retired mechanic Richard Hull; and retired educator Margaret Hawes Fishman.
The seat was vacated upon the resignation of nine-year veteran Onita Pelligrini effective Jan. 15.
The new trustee is expected to serve out the remainder of Pelligrini's term which runs through November.
