Four more teens have been arrested in connection with a Santa Rosa stabbing believed to have involved multiple suspected gang members who, police say, chased and then assaulted a bicyclist in a city park.

Ten suspects have now been arrested in the Jan. 11 stabbing and robbery, which occurred in the area of Bellevue Ranch Park, Santa Rosa Police said Thursday.

The latest suspects, who were arrested on Wednesday, are described as two 15-year-old boys, a 17-year-old boy and an adult, 18-year-old Anthony Hernandez of Santa Rosa, police said.

All were arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, robbery and participating in a street gang.

According to police, the incident occurred when a bicyclist, a 41-year-old man, approached a group of 15 teens about being in the park.

Neither the bicyclist nor any of the teens accused of assaulting him knew each other , police said.

According to police, the teens are accused of chasing the man into the 2100 block of Bellevue Ranch Road, then stabbing him several times before stealing his bicycle.

Witnesses, including a nurse, chased away the teens and helped the victim at the scene before he was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

Police said the teens fled the area.

Surveillance footage obtained by investigators shows at least four of them leaving in a vehicle that had been parked at Elsie Allen High School, about two blocks from where the incident occurred.

The first six arrests happened Jan. 16. Those six suspects were described as teenagers between the ages of 15 and 17.

Police arrested five of them after waiting outside their homes. The sixth was already in custody for an unrelated arrest, police said.
