Sebastopol police Tuesday night were looking for a driver of car that struck a bicyclist and then left the scene.

The bicyclist was struck around 5:12 p.m. as the driver turned onto South Main Street from Willow Street, said Sgt. Dave Harston. The driver then fled the scene.

The cyclist was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries, Harston said.

Witnesses described the suspect vehicle as an older white Ford Taurus with plywood covering the right rear window. The driver was described as an older male with long hair.

In the North Coast, we are surrounded by hundreds of wineries along with some of the best breweries, cidermakers and distillers. These industries produce an abundance of drinks as well as good stories – and those are what I’m interested in writing. I also keep my eye on our growing cannabis industry and other agricultural crops, which have provided the backbone for our food-and-wine culture for generations.
