A man fired gunshots Thursday night into a northwest Santa Rosa home after arguing with another man believed to live there, police said.

Santa Rosa police received a report at about 9:40 p.m. of shots fired into a house near Lance Drive and Phyllis Circle. Officers learned of the incident after a man and woman arrived at the Phyllis Circle home and the man got into an argument with another man who authorities believe to be a resident of the house.

The male suspect started to walk away as the argument went on, then turned around and fired shots into the house using a handgun, Santa Rosa police said. Bullet holes were found in a wall in the house but no one was injured.

Police said the suspects left the area in a gray Mercedes or similar vehicle. The motive is unclear and the shooting remains under investigation, according to Santa Rosa police. Anyone with information about the case can call 543-3595.
