A motorcyclist sustained major injuries in a collision with a pickup Thursday at Highway 101 and North State Street in Ukiah, the CHP said.

The driver of the 1999 Ford pickup, Michael Morgan, 41, of Petaluma, was attempting to turn left from the freeway off-ramp to head north on North State Street about 1 p.m. and did not see the motorcyclist heading south on the city street, the CHP said in a press release.

In the collision, the pickup rolled over the motorcyclist, a 36-year-old Ukiah man riding a 1970 Moto Guzzi. The man, whose name was not released, was flown to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital.

The collision is still under investigation, the CHP said.
