It never ceases to amaze us how the government calls upon us to conserve
and not be wasteful and then blatantly abuses the standards to which they
govern us by.
Today is a grand example. The sprinkler system at Fir Ridge Park has been
running since 7 a.m. The water is streaming down the road and into the
gutters. If it was a citizen allowing the water to run all day, they would be
slapped with a fine along with a gigantic bill.
We conserve water by running the dishwasher only when it is completely
full; the yard is on a timer that only runs in the early mornings. The washing
machine is only run with full loads a few times a week. We are paying higher
water and sewer rates.
When is the government going to practice what they preach and enforce their
own rules on themselves?
