PD Editorial: Budget deal exposes GOP’s spendthrift ways
Spending caps enacted by Congress in the tea party days of 2011 are being waived yet (again), facilitating a two-year, $165 billion increase in defense spending sought by Republicans. Democrats, in return, get $131 billion over two years in new in domestic spending, including money for infrastructure, health care for veterans and to combat opioid abuse.
