The fourth annual Sonoma County Barrel Auction raised a record $840,700 on Friday, organizers said.

This year’s event surpassed the 2017 auction by $46,200. Proceeds support Sonoma County Vintners, a trade group that represents 200 wineries and wine-affiliated businesses. The nonprofit group also will distribute some of the money to associations that represent 17 wine regions in Sonoma County.

Two special lots at the auction raised $99,000 that will go to the Sonoma County Vintners Emergency Relief Fund to aid those displaced from the October wildfires.
