Police seeking suspect in Petaluma 7-Eleven theft

Police are looking for a man they say stole merchandise from a Petaluma convenience store over the weekend.|

Police are looking for a man they say stole a cellphone and merchandise Saturday from a Petaluma 7-Eleven.

The theft happened about 1:20 p.m. at the 7-Eleven at 124 Petaluma Blvd. South, a news release from the Petaluma Police Department said.

The victim whose phone was stolen was a store employee.

Police described the suspect as a heavyset Hispanic man in his early 20s, who was wearing a red 49ers hat, black sweatshirt and gray shirt with a white logo.
